루터의 시편묵상 006편 (Reading the Psalms with Luther)

PSALM 6 

Psalm 6 is a psalm of prayer. It laments the great yet hidden suffering of the conscience when, on account of sins, one’s faith and hope are tormented by the law and anger of God and driven to despair or erring faith. This suffering is called elsewhere in the Psalter “the bonds of death” and “the ropes of hell,” or “the misery of death” and “the anguish of hell.” At the end of Psalm 6, the psalmist sees that his prayer has been heard. He is therefore a trustworthy example for those who find themselves in such affliction, so that they may not remain in it. 

The psalmist rebukes the workers of evil, that is, the false saints who generally hate and persecute such afflicted people. Because their comfort is in their own holiness, they know nothing of these trials. They are therefore utter enemies of the true faith. This psalm belongs to the First and Second Commandments because it commends the struggle of those who believe in God and pray against sin and death. It is in the First Petition of the Lord’s Prayer, as are all other psalms of prayer, because its prayer is that God’s name be called upon and blessed.

1 주님, 분노하며 나를 책망하지 마십시오. 

진노하며 나를 꾸짖지 마십시오. 

2 주님, 내 기력이 쇠하였으니, 내게 은혜를 베풀어 주십시오. 

내 뼈가 마디마다 떨립니다. 주님, 나를 고쳐 주십시오. 

3 내 마음은 걷잡을 수 없이 떨립니다. 

주님께서는 언제까지 지체하시렵니까? 

4 돌아와 주십시오, 주님. 내 생명을 건져 주십시오. 

주님의 자비로우심으로 나를 구원하여 주십시오. 

5 죽어서는, 아무도 주님을 찬양하지 못합니다. 

스올에서, 누가 주님께 감사할 수 있겠습니까? 

6 나는 탄식만 하다가 지치고 말았습니다. 

밤마다 짓는 눈물로 침상을 띄우며, 내 잠자리를 적십니다. 

7 사무친 울화로, 내 눈은 시력까지 흐려지고, 

대적들 등쌀에 하도 울어서 눈이 침침합니다. 

8 악한 일을 하는 자들아, 모두 다 내게서 물러가거라. 

주님께서 내 울부짖는 소리를 들어 주셨다. 

9 주님께서 내 탄원을 들어 주셨다. 

주님께서 내 기도를 받아 주셨다. 

10 내 원수가 모두 수치를 당하고, 벌벌 떠는구나. 

낙담하며, 황급히 물러가는구나. 

1 O LORD, rebuke me not in your | anger,*

nor discipline me | in your wrath. 

2 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am | languishing;*

  heal me, O LORD, for my bones are | troubled.

3 My soul also is greatly | troubled.*

But you, O LORD— | how long? 

4 Turn, O LORD, deliv- | er my life;*

save me for the sake of your | steadfast love. 

5 For in death there is no remem- | brance of you;*

in Sheol who will | give you praise? 

6 I am weary with my moaning;

every night I flood my | bed with tears;*

I drench my couch with my | weeping. 

7 My eye wastes away be- | cause of grief;*

it grows weak because of | all my foes. 

8 Depart from me, all you workers of | evil,*

for the LORD has heard the sound of my | weeping. 

9 The LORD has | heard my plea;*

the LORD ac- | cepts my prayer. 

10 All my enemies shall be ashamed

and greatly | troubled;*

they shall turn back and be put to shame in a | moment. 

PRAYER 

O Lord, God of mercy, forgive us all our sins for the sake of the bitter sufferings of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Grant us a triumphant faith by which we may obtain the victory in all afflictions and temptations, and uphold us by Your grace when we must pass through the valley of the shadow of death. Amen.

오 주님, 자비의 하나님, 당신의 아들 예수 그리스도께서 당하신 고난을 인하여 우리의 모든 죄를 용서해주십시오. 바라옵기는 우리에게 모든 고난과 유혹에서 승리를 얻을 수 있도록 승리하는 믿음을 우리에게 주시고, 우리가 사망의 음침한 골짜기를 지나갈 때 당신의 은혜로 우리를 굳게 붙들어 주소서. 아멘.
