PSALM 8
Psalm 8 is a prophecy of Christ—His sufferings, resurrection, and kingly rule over all creatures. This kingdom shall be established by the voice of children, that is, it will be established by Word and faith alone, not by sword or armor. This psalm belongs in the First Commandment, specifically that God intends to be our God, and the Second Petition, as was stated in Psalm 2 above.
시편 8 편은 그리스도에 관한 예언으로, 그의 고난과 부활 그리고 모든 피조물을 다스리시는 왕적 통치에 관한 시편입니다. 이 나라는 어린이들의 목소리에 의해 세워질 것입니다. 즉, 그것은 칼이나 무기가 아니라 오직 말씀과 믿음으로만 세워질 것이라는 의미입니다. 이 시편은 특히 하나님이 우리 하나님이 되실 것이라는 점에서 십계명의 첫째 계명에 속하며, 앞서 나온 시편 2편에 언급된 것처럼 주기도문의 두 번째 간구에 해당됩니다.
1 주 우리 하나님, 주님의 이름이 온 땅에서 어찌 그리 위엄이 넘치는지요?
저 하늘 높이까지 주님의 위엄 가득합니다.
2 어린이와 젖먹이들까지도 그 입술로 주님의 위엄을 찬양합니다.
주님께서는 원수와 복수하는 무리를 꺾으시고,
주님께 맞서는 자들을 막아 낼 튼튼한 요새를 세우셨습니다.
3 주님께서 손수 만드신 저 큰 하늘과
주님께서 친히 달아 놓으신 저 달과 별들을 내가 봅니다.
4 사람이 무엇이기에 주님께서 이렇게까지 생각하여 주시며,
사람의 아들이 무엇이기에 주님께서 이렇게까지 돌보아 주십니까?
5 주님께서는 그를 하나님보다 조금 못하게 하시고,
그에게 존귀하고 영화로운 왕관을 씌워 주셨습니다.
6 주님께서 손수 지으신 만물을 다스리게 하시고,
모든 것을 그의 발 아래에 두셨습니다.
7 크고 작은 온갖 집짐승과 들짐승까지도,
8 하늘을 나는 새들과 바다에서 놀고 있는 물고기와 물길 따라 움직이는 모든 것을,
사람이 다스리게 하셨습니다.
9 주 우리의 하나님, 주님의 이름이 온 땅에서 어찌 그리 위엄이 넘치는지요?
1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic
is your name in | all the earth!*
You have set your glory above the | heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and infants, you have
established strength because | of your foes,*
to still the enemy and the a- | venger.
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your | fingers,*
the moon and the stars, which you have | set in place,
4 what is man that you are mind- | ful of him,*
and the son of man that you | care for him?
5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly | beings*
and crowned him with glory and | honor.
6 You have given him dominion over the works | of your hands;*
you have put all things under | his feet,
7 all sheep and | oxen,*
and also the beasts | of the field,
8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish | of the sea,*
whatever passes along the paths | of the seas.
9 O | LORD, our Lord,*
how majestic is your name in | all the earth!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You were delivered for our offenses and raised again for our justification. Bless and defend Your Holy Church. Endue Your Word with power, strengthen our faith, and after the sufferings of this life grant us to celebrate a happy Easter, rising again to live and reign with You in all eternity. Amen.
주 예수님, 당신은 우리의 범죄함으로 인해 죽음을 당하시고 우리의 의롭다 하심을 위해 다시 살아나셨습니다.(로마서 4:25) 거룩한 당신의 교회를 축복하고 지켜주옵소서. 주님의 말씀에 힘을 더하시고 우리 믿음을 굳세게 하시며 이 땅에서의 고난이 끝난 후 우리로 하여금 행복한 부활절을 경축하게 하시고 우리도 다시 살아나 당신과 함께 영원토록 다스리게 하소서. 아멘.
